  • This volume, published in 1924, provides details of over 200 sheep marks used by shepherds living in the Preseli Mountain area (i.e. Mynachlogddu, Brynberian and Tafarn Newydd/New Inn). Each farm had its own unique 'mark' (which involved clipping the ears of each sheep in a distinctive manner), thus enabling shepherds both to recognise their own sheep and to identify the owners of 'stray' animals. The list was compiled by Mr R. Davies and the senior pupils at Ysgol y Cyngor (Council School), Llwynihirion, Brynberian.
