  • The 'Lletyau' ('Lodgings') are situated to the east of the main house and are built in the same style. They form a range of eight small vaulted cells or cubicles under a stone roof, although their original purpose is unclear. A Victorian inscription on the building implies that they provided accommodation for poor travellers, with the two-storeyed building at the end of the range being occupied by an overseer. Since the rooms can only be locked from the outside and as they are lit by slits, it seems more plausible that the occupants were prisoners and, most likely, animals - possibly dogs.
