Castell Henllys is a Scheduled Ancient Monument and one of many prehistoric forts in the Pembrokeshire National Park dating to around 600 BC. Archaeologists have been excavating on the site for over twenty years and thatched Iron Age buildings have been reconstructed on their original foundations. Roundhouses were built at Castell Henllys using a vast range of materials including timber of many types and sizes, reed, clay and dung (daub) and rope. The use of all these materials go together to produce roundhouses of great strength and comfort.
Castell Henllys is open to the public.
