The Clwyd Fine Arts Trust was established in 1985 and its main task and object has been to build up a collection of art relating to north Wales generally and to the north-east of Wales in particular. An interesting collection has been assembled, mainly of eighteenth and nineteenth century topographical works. The Trust also absorbed a collection of works by contemporary artists working in Wales which had been purchased by the North Wales Arts Association.
