  • This patchwork quilt was made by Daniel Owen in 1880 for Mrs Benjamin Powell of Mitcham House, Mold.

  • This is a cotton print logcabin patchwork in dark and light shades.  It consists of 35 squares, with a scarlet border, and was lined with calico at a later date.  It was made by Mrs Mendus Jones, daughter of the Rev. Edward Jones (Wesleyan minister) of Llanidloes, and was later used at Bangor where her husband was a bookseller.
Dimensions: 154 cm x 80 cm.
Patchwork coverlet, late 19th century
  • This patchwork bedcover has an overall pattern of velvet and silk 'falling blocks' on a rose coloured background.  The backing is of yellow glazed linen. It was made by Miss Williams-Hartnell at Walsall, Staffordshire, and  was later used at Rhos-on-Sea.
Dimensions: 191 cm x 220 cm.
Patchwork bedcover, c 1860-80
  • Patchwork coverlet, dated 1884.  It is made of silk, cotton (velvet, brocade) and is a 'crazy patchwork' pattern constructed in 9 panels, joined by embroidery.  Many of the patches have been embroidered with detailed floral motifs, wheatears, figures of a boy and girl, a moon and stars, also an American flag and the date 1884.  The velvet border is decorated with ribbon embroidery of rosebuds and the coverlet is lined silk.  It was made by Jennie Jones, a Welsh American, in 1884, and was later displayed at the Chicago Exhibition of 1893.

  • Patchwork quilt made c. 1860-70 in Carmarthenshire.  Dimensions: 263 cm x 219 cm.

  • Patchwork quilt dating from the mid-19th century, from Gelli Dywyll, Llanbryn-mair.  It is of cotton with a  top cover of nine panels of alternating Turkey red and white flower heads with star centre.  Each panel is quilted with a circular double feather motif in centre and quarter circle in each corner.  The whole quilt is edged with feather border.  Dimensions: 200 cm x 198 cm.
