  • Flannel 'betgwn' or bedgown featuring red and black vertical stripes.  Sleeves half-lined with black taffeta. Turned-back cuffs. The bodice appears to have been constructed from scraps of cloth. Two decorative covered buttons have been used at the back of waistband.
The cream flannel petticoat or underskirt which also appears features hand-embroidered pink flowers and scalloped edge.  It has been extensively repaired by its owner.

  • Red flannel 'betgwn' or bedgown featuring black vertical stripes. Puff-style sleeves decorated with black scalloped braid. Front bodice opening decorated with pleated black braid.

  • Flannel 'betgwn' or bedgown with black and red vertical stripe. Bodice is fastened with three ties made from black tape. Sleeves decorated with a band of white lace. The front corners of the gown have been stitched to the back of the waist.

Also featured is a woollen petticoat or underskirt with red and black vertical stripes. The fabric has been pleated into narrow white cotton waistband fastened at the back with a covered button. There are two deep pintucks above the hemline.

  • Striped skirt in coarse flannel. Features red/cream checkered stripes on a black and cream background. The skirt has been gathered into a narrow cotton waistband with deep pintuck above hemline. From a collection of items originally owned by the Phillipps family of Trefoes Isaf, Llangwyryfon.  The skirt measures 78 x 70 cms.

  • Large flannel skirt with wide red and black horizontal stripes pleated into a broad cotton waistband  which has been fastened at the back with two buttons.

  • Coarse wool flannel skirt featuring vertical stripes in cream, red and black.  The fabric has been pleated into a broad cotton waistband fastened at the back with three buttons.  It is also decorated with a deep pintuck above the hemline.
