  • This seal shows Christ emerging from his tomb and with his right, scarred, hand held up in blessing. Bemused guards stand to either side. The text reads:

  • The almshouses at Penmynydd were built in 1620 under the will of Lewis Rogers.  Above the porch entrance was a sunken panel with the letters and date 'IPHS 1620' and the initials 'LR' over two doorways.

  • The Llanrwst Almshouses were constructed in 1610 by Sir John Wynn of Gwydir to house twelve poor men of the district.  For four hundred years they continued to provide shelter until 1976 when the buildings closed.  The Almshouses have recently been restored and opened as a museum of local history.
