Coins of Roman usurper Allectus, from the Rogiet hoard, AD 293-296 A new denomination, signed 'Q', was an innovation by Allectus. These coins all depict varieties of warship, symbolising Allectus' reliance on his navy. The 750+ examples of the issue in the Rogiet hoard, found 1998, form the first significant find of this coinage, anywhere, since 1860.
