  • This document, produced by Henry VIII's Court of Augmentations, refers to the dissolution of the Monastery of Minoresses Without Aldgate, London. The Court of Augmentations was instituted in 1535, and was one of a number of financial courts established during Henry's reign, in order that the crown might better manage it's property and finances. The Court of Augmentations became the most important, handling the financial affairs relating to the Dissolution of the Monasteries, following Henry's break with Rome and the Catholic faith.
