  • The Lido at Ebbw Vale was built in 1930 by unemployed men who volunteered for the task. It closed in 1961 to be replaced by an indoor swimming pool.

  • An antefix tile which was found at the site of the Roman bath house, Prestatyn.  The tile would have been placed on the gable end of the bath house to cover the end of a line of roof tiles.  The tile bears the inscription 'LEGXXVV'.

  • Caerleon was the permanent base of the Second Augustan Legion in Britain from c. AD 75.  The legionary baths were a focal point for the base.

  • A photograph of the huge Pump House Hotel in Llandrindod Wells, opened around 1870 as a grand Victorian hotel to cater for the increasing number of visitors able to travel by train to the rapidly growing spa resort. Some of the guests are playing croquet on the lawn behind the hotel.  Only the former bath house on the left survives today.
