  • This photograph shows one of the rooms in Rapallo House, Craig-y-don, Llandudno, which was the home of Francis Edouard Chardon.  Chardon was an artist and collector of antiques, antiquities and objets d'art, who had settled in Llandudno in the late nineteenth century.  Following his death, Rapallo house and its contents were left to the town of Llandudno.  On 22 June 1927, Llandudno Museum was opened to the public at Rapallo House.

  • This photograph shows the official ceremony to mark the handing over of Rapallo House Museum, Llandudno, to Llandudno Council, December 1928.  The house and its contents had been left to the town by Francis Edouard Chardon.  In 1980 the museum moved to its present location in Gloddaeth Street, Llandudno, where the Chardon collection and many other objects are on display.

  • Built in 1887, this Grade II listed building is now home to Neath Museum, as well as being used by amateur operatic groups.

  • The Museum Cottage at Church Bank, near St Mary's church in Welshpool, photographed in 1873.  The Powysland Museum was built on a neighbouring site, and opened in 1875. The cottage was used by the museum caretaker, who is probably the gentleman pictured here.

  • The old canal-side town warehouse by the Montgomeryshire Canal at Welshpool pictured when it was used in the 1930s and 1940s by transport company Morgan Edwards Ltd.  Today the building houses the Powysland Museum, and canal boat trips start from the wharf to the left.
