  • A decorated arch gateway at Welshpool built for the visit of the Prince and Princess of Wales to the town in 1909.  This was on the Severn Street bridge over the Montgomery canal in the town. Most of the people in this line-up do not look quite as welcoming as the message above them, since photography was still a fairly demanding business in the 1900s. The royal couple were to become King George V and Queen Mary in the following year.
