  • Relief sculpture showing the backs of figures in uniform behind a perimeter fence hung with dolls, teddies etc. The RAF base at Greenham Common made headline news during the early 1980s when the British government decided that the base would house cruise missiles. In 1981 a group of women marched from Cardiff to Greenham Common to protest against this decision. Upon their arrival at the base, a number of women chained themselves to the fence and it was as a result of this action that the idea of establishing a 'peace camp' at the air base was formed.
