  • Alfred Neobard Palmer (1847-1915) was born in Norfolk and moved to Wrexham in 1880 to work as an analytical chemist.  In 1882 he was appointed industrial chemist at the Brymbo steelworks.  Palmer took a keen interest in the history of the Wrexham area and as a result of his extensive research he produced several important historical works.  The following pages are taken from Palmer's personal annoted copy of his book on the history of Nonconformity in Wrexham, published in 1889.

  • Selected pages from the volume 'Album Aberhonddu o 1750 - 1880' edited by Thomas Stephens, published by Joseph Williams, Merthyr Tydfil, 1898.  The volume provides a history of the Congregational colleges at Abergavenny, Oswestry, Wrexham, Llanfyllin, Newtown and Brecon, and biographies of a some the former students.
