Aerial photograph of Penrhyn Castle, Llandygái, 1996 Penrhyn Castle was the home of George Hay Dawkins-Pennant (1764-1840), the powerful landowner and owner of the nearby Penrhyn quarry at Bethesda. The castle was designed by the architect Thomas Hopper (1776-1856) and was constructed during the 1820s.
