Recollections of Merthyr Tydfil in 1877, by W. Edwards, 1934 [image 1 of 10]
W. Edwards was a native of Denbigh who came to Merthyr Tydfil in September 1877 to serve his apprenticeship as one of H. M. Inspectors of Schools. In his memoirs, published in 1934, he provides a detailed account of the social, industrial and cultural life of Merthyr at the end of the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries.
