Worsley Mesne winding engine, Cefn Coed Colliery, Crynant [image 1 of 3] This horizontal steam engine was manufactured in Wigan in 1927. It is the only remaining working steam winder in the south Wales anthracite coalfield and was used to winch cages up and down the pit shaft.
