Victorian 'mug-shot' album compiled by Denbighshire County Constabulary [vol. 2, folio 17] - Alice Wilson. This entry is a record of her previous convictions, mostly for obtaining money under false pretences. The sentences are given afterwards in brackets and become more severe as she goes on. Durham, 22 October 1872, felony (2 months) Durham, 1 July 1873, felony (9 months) Northallerton, 7 April 1874, felony (12 months) Wakefield, August 1876, false pretences (3 months) Wakefield, 2 March 1877, rogue and vagabond endeavouring to obtain charitable contributions by means of false pretences (3 months) Bradford, November 1877, obtaining by false pretences (7 years in prison and 5 years under police supervision) Ruthin, January 1885, obtaining by false pretences (7 years in prison and 5 years under police supervision). She was also wanted in Leeds, West Bromwich, Accrington, Ellesmere and Birmingham for similar offences.
