Roman mirror found at Llechwedd-du Bach, near Harlech

Roman mirror found at Llechwedd-du Bach, near Harlech Bronze circular mirror with a handle of Late Celtic design. The triple loops of the handle, which is of cast bronze, are linked by beaded collars. Found in the mid-19th century with a tinned bronze plate. Both items may have come originally from a woman's burial. Roman mirrors served exactly the same purpose of personal vanity as they do today. At least one side of the mirror plate would have been silvered or tinned to achieve a reflective surface.
