Medieval pottery jug from Cardiff
The records of the National Museums and Galleries of Wales state that this jug was found 'in taking up the floor of some back office in Wharton Street or elsewhere' [Cardiff] during the 19th century. The green glaze and its frieze of stylised dancing-girls and row of heads encircling the rim, suggests it is a product of the 13th century kiln at Ham Green, on the river Avon, near Bristol.
