  • Ron Davies was a sprinter who was at his peak during the 1960s.  He captained the British squad in the 1968 Olympic Games in Mexico and led Wales into the 1966 Empire Games in Jamaica.

  • Colin Jackson is one of the greatest  Welsh athletes to have lived.  His acheivements include gold at the 110 metre hurdles at the 1993 and 1999 World Champisonships,  and first place at the European Champion three times running (1990, 1994, 1998).

At the time of writing, he was the holder of the world record, indoors and out, at 60m Hurdles and 110m Hurdles respectively.

  • Steve Jones specialised as a marathon runner and won the New York, Chicago and London races during the 1980s.  On his marathon debut in Chicago in 1985, he set a world best time.

  • Lynn Davies was a long jumper whose greatest acheivement was winning a gold medal at the Tokyo Olympics in 1964.  He was the first British athlete to win a gold medal at this event.
