  • The crowd await the arrival of the International 6 Days' Trial competitors at Llandrindod Well.  This was an endurance event for motorcycles, with riders setting out from the town on a different circular course of some 270 miles on each of the days. The famous Automobile Palace of the motoring pioneer Tom Norton is on the right.

  • The rare sight of a German flag bearing the swastika flying in mainland Britain was recorded in mid-Wales in 1938. This photograph shows the maintenance area in Llandrindod Wells used by teams competing in the International Six Days Trial for motorcycles.

  • The cover of the official programme for the International Six Days Trial motorcycle endurance event of 1938, which was centred on Llandrindod Wells. Teams from Great Britain, Czechoslovakia, Germany, Holland, Hungary, Sweden, and Ireland took part, as well as manufacturers, army, and club teams. The International Trophy, the major award, was won by the Great Britain team.
