Doubler's clog and tin maker's tongs [image 1 of 2]
  • This lead miners' clog was found at the site of the Minera lead mines, Denbighshire.  It was probably made locally during the nineteenth century.

  • William stayed at the house of Mr Gullet at Llanllyfni.  He then travelled to Caernarfon where he bought a suit of clothes, and a pair of clogs and shoes.  He then walked as far as 'Bettws' [Betws Garmon] before travelling in the coach back to Beddgelert.
