Aerial photograph of Cefn Viaduct, Cefncoedycymer, 1999
  • An engraving of the elegant new railway viaduct at Knucklas on the Central Wales Railway, originally published in the Illustrated London News in the 1860s. The height of the structure, and of the Shropshire hills beyond, were somewhat exaggerated here by the Victorian artist, but nevertheless, it was one of a great many impressive achievements by Victorian engineers.

  • The timber narrow-gauge railway viaduct, Blaenau Ffestiniog. Some men are standing on the bridge, and terraced houses are visable in the background. Photographed by John Thomas.

  • This view is from the Bristol side of the Severn estuary looking across to Passage Houses at Beachley with Chepstow Castle in the background. The barrage, a two-tiered viaduct with trains on top and pedestrians and carts below, consists of 21 towers with connecting arched structures.
