  • This postcard forms part of a collection of postcards which were mainly produced for the tourist market during the early decades of the twentieth century.  Many of the postcards showed images of famous Welsh landmarks, traditional Welsh costume, or extracts from traditional songs, etc. A large number featured humorous cartoons.
First World War Postcard - 'Y Ddraig Goch a Ddyry Gychwyn' by Kelt Edwards, 1914-18
  • A collection of 20 cartoons by J. M. Staniforth relating to the First World War. These cartoons were originally published in the 'Western Mail' during August and September 1914 and reprinted (presumably later that year) as a booklet entitled 'Cartoons of the War'. The cover price was 3d.  The cartoon on the front cover is captioned  'Prudence the Better Part of Valour' and was originally published on 15 August 1914.
