  • The inscription at the head of this memorial reads:

'To the Glory of God. In honoured memory of the Jewish young men who served their country in the Great War. Merthyr Hebrew Congregation.  (5673) 1914 - 1918 (5677).'

The dates in brackets are those given by the Hebrew calendar.

  • Programme of a Public Concert arranged by the students of the University College of North Wales, Bangor, in aid of the North Wales Heroes' Memorial Fund, 27 February 1918.

The 'North Wales Heroes' Memorial, a memorial arch which leads to the University at Bangor, was subsequently unveiled by the Prince of Wales in November 1923.

  • The Welsh National War Memorial was designed by J. Ninian Cooper and unveiled in June 1928 by the Prince of Wales.

  • This jug forms part of a large tea service which was produced to commemorate the erection of the War Memorial Gates, Park Road, Coed-poeth.  The gates were erected in memory of the men of Bersham parish who lost their lives during the First World War (1914-18).  The gates were officially opened on Armistice Day, 11 November 1921. 

The tea service consists of twelve cups and saucers, two side plates, two sandwich plates, one sugar bowl and one milk jug.  These items were sold by Dodds furniture and crockery sellers, High Street, Coed-poeth. The tea service was produced as a private venture by the shop and 2d. per week could be put away to secure any piece of the service.
