Programme of the Service of Dedication of the Memorial Porch, All Saints Church, Gresford, 1 May 1920 [front cover, image 1 of 7]
  • Last Sunday, Tom was given an opportunity to take part in a Welsh religious service: he says that it was almost like being in church back home. At the service he saw Jonny Jones of Llanddeusant. They were very pleased to see one another and they went to sit under a tree to talk. They chatted until it was time for them to go to bed. Tom says that although it has been hard being apart from all his friends in Anglesey, it has been wonderful to see them in such a place as this. The men had a very long and tiring journey to the third Line of the trenches and Tom does not know how long they will remain there before moving closer to the enemy.
