Nelson's Monmouth speeches, recorded and printed by Charles Heath, 1802
  • Nelson was granted the Freedom of the Borough of Monmouth in 1801.

He visited the town the following year as part of a tour of south Wales that was undertaken for three reasons: to visit the port at Milford, to report on the state of Navy timber in the Forest of Dean, and for pleasure.
