Coed-y-Celyn is a large stone-built mid-Victorian Italianate villa. It includes a tall belvadere tower above the entrance with a shallow pyramid roof. A service wing of simpler design is to the left and a new wing was later added at the rear, dated 1874. This addition also contains the ballroom. The interior includes two rooms of fine plasterwork, one of which houses a sumptuous marble chimneypiece. The entrance lodge was built to a similar design.
